Punjab Kings put on a strong bowling show to defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by five wickets in a rain-shortened match on Friday (April 18) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Rain delayed the start of the game to 9:45 PM (IST), and the match was cut down to 14 overs per team. RCB had a tough time batting and scored only 95 runs for 9 wickets. Tim David was the only standout, scoring 50 runs from 26 balls.
In reply, Punjab Kings had a few shaky moments at the start but chased down the target in just 12.1 overs, finishing at 98 for 5. This win added to RCB’s struggles at home this season.
Punjab’s openers, young talent Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, found it difficult early on because the pitch had extra bounce, which helped the fast bowlers.
