SRH vs PBKS, IPL 2025 Live Score and Highlights: Abhishek Sharma’s Record-Breaking Ton Powers Sunrisers in Run-Fest
In one of the most explosive contests of the IPL 2025 season, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are on the brink of a famous victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS), courtesy of a record-shattering innings from Abhishek Sharma. The young Indian batter smashed a breathtaking 141 off just 55 balls, breaking the record for the highest individual score by an Indian in IPL history. His century came off just 40 deliveries, showcasing his fearless striking and incredible form.
Opening alongside Travis Head, the duo finally clicked at the top for SRH this season, stitching together a jaw-dropping 171-run partnership in just 75 balls. Head played a solid hand with 66 off 37 balls, and the pair raised a 100-run opening stand in under 8 overs. Abhishek brought up his half-century in a mere 19 balls and continued to decimate the PBKS bowling attack.
Despite defending a massive total of 246, Punjab Kings looked listless on the field, unable to contain SRH’s batters during the powerplay, where 83 runs were smashed by the home side.
Earlier in the day, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat. The decision initially paid off handsomely as Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya gave the team a flying start. The uncapped duo put up a 66-run partnership in just 24 balls, targeting Pat Cummins and Mohammed Shami. While Arya fell for 36(13), Prabhsimran scored a quick 42(23).
Shreyas Iyer continued the assault, scoring 50 off just 22 balls and anchoring the innings through the middle overs. He built crucial partnerships with Nehal Wadhera, and PBKS managed to cross 200 in the 17th over, eventually ending their innings at 245/6. However, the final flourish came courtesy of Marcus Stoinis, who smashed four consecutive sixes off the last four balls of the innings, bowled by Mohammed Shami.
Despite that late surge, PBKS’s bowling failed to match the intensity of their batting. SRH, coming off four straight defeats, made one change to their XI and looked like a completely revitalized side on the back of Abhishek Sharma’s career-defining knock.
