IPL 2025 Standings Updated : In Match 20 of the ongoing IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians locked horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 7. The contest kicked off with RCB taking the first strike after being put in to bat.
RCB didn’t get off to the best start as Phil Salt was dismissed early. However, the innings quickly gained momentum thanks to a solid partnership between Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal. Kohli played a classy knock of 67 off 42 balls, while Padikkal contributed a brisk 37 off 22.
Skipper Rajat Patidar then took charge, launching a fierce assault on the MI bowlers with a blazing 64 off just 32 deliveries. He was well supported by Jitesh Sharma, who remained unbeaten on 40, helping RCB post a formidable total of 221/5 in their 20 overs.
Chasing a big target, Mumbai Indians had a shaky start as both openers, Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton, fell for 17 runs each. However, Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya steadied the innings with impressive knocks of 56 and 42 respectively, keeping MI in the hunt.
Despite their efforts, MI couldn’t get over the line, falling short by 12 runs in a thrilling finish. With this, Royal Challengers Bengaluru sealed a hard-fought win at the Wankhede.
